We now have a blog and editable on line courses
The learning centre now has a blog and its how we aim to keep in touch and celebrate our successes. Thats the reason we made the blog the main page for the learning centre, here we can get our volunteers, our veterans, the support team and our researchers all on the same page.
The new blog uses the alloy blog engine from elixir so its capable of some really fancy stuff, but for now we will keep it simple. What it does mean is we can edit the blog posts right here on the site, from your desk top, from your phone - anywhere we have access.
Admin access gives full control over creating, editing, scheduling and deleting blog posts. We use a separate login for the blog posts for convenience and security reasons, it allows us to nominate anyone to build and manage the blog entries.
The blog editor has a full powered text editor and you can attach pictures, video, audio or anything else you can dream up. The spell checker highlights text as you go and you can decide to change it or ignore it. We can use files created in a range of other programs so it reduces double handling.
Our aim is to make producing the posts quick and relatively painless - so the barrier to getting people involved is reduced. Its one of many lessons we have identified in our recent review - make it easy by providing the right tools.
