A new direction. After a lot of feedback and thinking about this work we have changed direction.
The Peer mentor course is being refined, however we are now focussing on the self help course.
The change in direction has come from some big learning points from the beta test of the Peer mentor course.
Key points were people struggled with the time commitment and the assumed role was probably over optimistic.
It appears the best way to overcome the issues is to put the veteran in the driving seat, making them responsible for making their own way forwards.
The mentor is then responsible for guiding and supporting the veteran rather than delivering a lot of the learning.
The learning is pre programmed into the self help course. To facilitate a wider input we have refined the structure so that it can be edited online, whilst this slows the development, it speeds the maintenance.
Its designed to be edited by everyone with an admin login. If you are keen to lend a hand let us know.
We expect this to go to beta testing about June this year.
